My Dad, George Evans, was a member of Brighton swimming club for many years and entered the between the piers races and played polo. He was surprised to see himself in the photo's you used in the programme, he found it on i player but did not download it and can no longer find it.

This is really interesting.

Mike Davies is well known for his spear fishing and if its the Mike Davies that once owned Shoreham water sports, I remember him. It was one of the first dive shops in the area and i had a made to measure wet suit put together there for me when i was 15 years old. I think that shop also sold the wet suits to Brocolis company for the underwater scenes in "the spy who loved me" James Bond film.

I think the angle of what the club introduced people to and where it has taken them individually is a good one.

I was a member of the club as a child and predominately learnt to swim there.I drifted out when i was about 16. In fact i did my lifeguard quals through the club and this allowed me to get a job in 1981 when i left school (aged 16) as a lifeguard at the newly opened prince regent SC.

Looking back it was an important foundation stone in my career.
